Konica Minolta Dimage Z3 Review On-Line!

Finally! It seems like it's taken me forever to actually complete the review! Well I was in New Zealand for just over 3 weeks, so I guess I've got a bit of an excuse :) Anyway, find out all about this 12x Optical zoom, 4mp digital camera with Konica Minolta's Anti-Shake technology by reading my review here. You can buy the camera from amazon.co.uk for £265 inc vat and free postage, or for $429.99 from amazon.com.

Kyocera Finecam M410R Review at DCRP Review

DCRP Review: Kyocera Finecam M410R: "the Finecam M410R ($399), Kyocera's entry into the red-hot ultra zoom category. While it may look like just another ultra zoom camera, the M410R's claim to fame is it's ability to shoot continuously at 3.3 frames/second until the memory card is full. Wow!"

Canon Powershot G6 Review at Imaging-Resource

Canon Powershot G6 Digital Camera Review: Intro and Highlights "The PowerShot G6 is a solid update to Canon's extremely popular G5 model. The G6 retains the same user enhancements that debuted on the G3 and G5 models, including a 4x lens and various feature upgrades, but features a new body design, along with a larger, 7.1-megapixel CCD. The G6 also carries over all of the design elements I applauded in the previous "G" models, including the rotating LCD monitor that's one of my personal favorites."

Konica Minolta DiMAGE G600 Review @ Imaging-Resource

Digital Cameras - Konica Minolta DiMAGE G600 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications "The Konica Minolta DiMAGE G600 follows on the heels of the DiMAGE G500, announced in late 2003, and is one of the more compact cameras in the DiMAGE line (though not as tiny as members of the diminutive X series). More or less identical to the earlier G500 apart from its higher resolution and faster autofocus response, the DiMAGE G600 offers 6.0 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom lens, and a very compact, all-metal body with a fully retracting lens, perfect for travel."

DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot A400

DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot A400 "Despite its low price, the Canon PowerShot A400 doesn't compromise on image quality. Aside from the occasional fuzzy background detail, the A400 takes very good photos, not bad for a camera costing about 150 bucks!"

Canon PowerShot A95 review at Pocket-Lint

Canon PowerShot A95 review "Canon describes its new, 5-megapixel, 3 x optical zoom PowerShot A95 as an entry-level camera. This is certainly true if you leave the shooting mode dial on Auto and then point and shoot. Pressing the shutter button half way sets off the auto focus and exposure. Two bleeps sound when the camera has finished metering and a green light gives you the go ahead to press the shutter button all the way."

Canon Powershot A95 Review at DPReview.com

"the PowerShot A95 replaces the hugely popular A80 at the top of Canon's entry-level range. Although it shares many features with the A80, the new model sports several significant improvements (including some also found on the A85), and in fact offers a feature set that compares well with considerably more expensive models, such as last year's PowerShot G5. The main changes are the sensor resolution (5MP) and a larger (1.8 inch) and considerably higher resolution (118,000 pixel) swing out LCD screen." read the review here.

Canon Powershot S70 Review @ Steve's-Digicams

"The Powershot S70 is the "big brother" of the 5.0 megapixel PowerShot S60 and is aimed at the advanced user who wants full photographic control in a compact digital camera with very high resolution. The S70 combines a 7.1-megapixel imager with the same Canon 3.6x wide angle zoom lens used on the S60, it covers a 35mm equivalent of 28-100mm." Read the review here.

Fujifilm S3 Pro Preview at DPReview

Full Details here IT looks like Fujifilm have made some interesting changes to the sensor in the S3: "Initially the design of the S3 Pro's SuperCCD SR sensor was the same as that used in the F700, F710 and S20 Pro (the R pixel above the S pixel; diagram on the left below). However Fujifilm has since then slightly modified the design by moving the R pixel to the empty space between S pixels which now allows for a larger S pixel (diagram on the right below). This also means that the S3 Pro must have a fairly unusual microlens layout (as each S and R pixel must have its own microlens) and we'll be very interested to see if this has any impact on image quality."

Dimage Z3

Hi, while Josh is in N.Z. (beautiful country..) my bro has let me loose on the site. Thought I'd see if I could dig up some more info on the Dimage Z3 - the uniquely shaped 4megapixel [2272 x 1704] with anti shake (and with 12x zoom I'd appreciate that) - it looks easy to get to grips with. It takes AA batteries, which is an advantage when you're on holiday and don't want to have to find an adapter for the battery charger that matches the country you're in. see also: quick Z3 factsheet from dpreview.com or from dcviews.com short Z3 review by taveechai from dcresource.pricegrabber.com For historical comparisons, a Z2 review at imaging-resource.com and steves-digicams I look forward to seeing Josh's holiday pictures soon.

Konica Minolta Dimage Z3

Hi! Currently on holiday in New Zealand. Managed to get a good deal on a Konica Minolta Dimage Z3 in Sim Lim Square electrical shopping centre in Singapore on the way - managed to get it for around 235GBP so will have a review of it nearer the end of the month. (Amazon.co.uk: 275GBP, Amazon.com: $499) News posts may be a bit irregular during this time, so I reccommend you check out PhotographyBLOG when there's not been an update on here.

Recommended 3Megapixel 3xOptical Digital Cameras

coverAmazon.co.uk: Kodak LS633 Digital Camera [3MP 3xOptical] Amazon currently have this camera for sale for £99 inc vat, which is very good value for money. "The Kodak EasyShare LS633 digital camera is designed for photographers who want to easily capture and share photos while enjoying the benefits of advanced technology. The LS633 features an innovative 2.2-inch OLED display, 3.3-megapixel CCD, 3x optical Schneider Kreuznach Variogon zoom lens, and on-camera share button for simple e-mailing, printing and organizing." They also have the Pentax Optio 33LF Digital Camera [3MP 3xOptical] for £99.99, which features a 1.6" Fold out screen. One of the reviews: "The picture quality is excellent (though to be fair I have nothing to compare it with) and really easy to use. Its compact, has a great selection of features - 3x optical zoom (don't bother with the digital), macro, time delay and loads more that I haven't experimented with yet!"

Fuji FinePix E510 Review @ DCResource

DCRP Review: Fuji FinePix E510 5.1mp, 3x wide-angle zoom lens. "The two standout features on that list are the lens and LCD. The lens, which starts at 28mm, is great for indoor shots. Usually you have to buy a conversion lens to cover that much area, but not on the E510. The downside is that the camera doesn't have much telephoto power. The camera's LCD is a nice 2 inches in size, and it's bright and fluid. The problem with the LCD is that it becomes useless in low light conditions, since the screen doesn't "gain up"."

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F88 Review @ Imaging-Resource

Link "The Sony DSC-F88 is one of the latest Sony Cyber-shot digital cameras, dramatically advancing the flip lens design seen previously in the DSC-F55 and F55DX. The DSC-F88 uses the lens and sensor technology first developed for Sony's DSC-T1, the ultra-compact assembly letting Sony pack a 5 megapixel sensor, 3x Carl Zeiss zoom lens and an optical viewfinder into a surprisingly small, swiveling lens assembly molded to fit the smooth curve of the camera's top."

Samsung Digimax V50 Review @ megapixel.net

Link "The new Samsung Digimax V50 is based on the Digimax V4, which we tested last year. The basic design of the V4 is recognizable in the body of V50, but the V50 benefits from some valuable improvements."
