DigitalCameraReview have reviewed the new 7 megapixel Casio Exilim EX-Z120 – it features a 3x optical zoom lens, and a 2″ screen:
“Announced back in August, the 7.2 megapixel Casio Exilim EX-Z120 (and its 6 megapixel little brother, the EX-Z110) was introduced as an easy to use, entry level, compact digital camera. Casio touted these cameras as easy to use for any level. With an icon-driven easy mode for beginners, 28 Best Shot scene modes for beginning to intermediate users, and manual modes for people who want to experiment more.”
I bought the Casio Z120 on a boxing day sale for $250 Canadian (FutureShop). I compared it to the Sony P200 @ $400 which I also have.Start up and first shot speed was GREAT. With little kids, this is important. Also the shutter lag was excellent.Colours were a little more vivid in the Sony. Focus and blur were similar. The Sony could focus in complete darkness where the Casio could not … then again I don’t take many photos in complete dark.I would recommend the Casio for the following reasons:– Casio used the AA batteries (easier to get and less costly) … the Sony used the camera as its charger but they last a long time.– Casio uses the standard SD card which is more common than Sony’s (and a little cheaper). The Casio also has more of a USER range. It came with a “Dummy” mode, just point and let it do the rest … even the menu was dummed down. The next mode had 2 dozen mini photos to have the photographer PICK the mode they wanted – everything from fireworks, business cards, children, sports, etc! And then a mode with basic customization -like focus type, flash type, etc. Finally it had a mode where you can change the ISO for the guy like me who normally wants a point-and-shoot but still likes to think he could be a real photographer some day.Even at the same price, I think I would have chosen the Casio. Great FAST camera at a good price.
I need some help. I bought the Casio Z120 a few days ago. The problem is I cannot connect to my PC via the USB cable. The PC (using Windows XP) is not recognizing the driver. Also when I plug into the television using the bundled AV cable nothing happens either. Need help. Please email me at the following address: hassankamal67@gmail.com
Hi Hassan, sorry if this sounds silly, but you need to make sure the USB or AV cable is FULLY plugged into the Casio – the cable I have plugs in, feels like it’s plugged in, but it’s only half-way pushed in – pushing it in harder makes sure that it’s fully plugged into the camera. I had someone else email me with the exact same problem. Hope this helps, thanks Josh
I have a litle problem with the camera. when i put the pictures on the PC I will even see the half of the picture or nothing of it. pleas tell me what the problem is.

It could be a faulty or problematic memory card. Have you tried copying the photos to the computer? Are they still the same? Have you tried another computer or a different memory card? Once you’ve backed up your photos off the memory card it could be worth formating the memory card from inside the camera. Hope this helps, thanks Josh
