Megxon Z6Megxon (Tekxon) have a new digital camera, the Megxon Z6, it appears to be an updated version of the Ricoh Caplio R2 / R1v – reviewed here / and Samsung A55W.

The Megxon Z6 features the same wide-angle 4.8x optical zoom lens, a 2.5″ screen, a 6 megapixel sensor, VGA 30fps MPEG4 video recording with sound, takes rechargable batteries and has 32mb built in.

Megxon are part of the stange digital camera world where the same cameras appears under various different names, so availabilty and pricing could vary greatly. For example, here’s the Yakumo version, the Mega-Image 650.

Be warned that these cameras often offer in camera interpolation, for example enlarging the 6 mp image to a 10 mp image, and these cameras are often sold on ebay with the interpolated resolution as a prominant selling point! SVP Tech are especially guilty of this!
