Acer CP-8660Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new Acer CP-8660 – it features an interesting and fairly stylish retro design, an 8 megapixel sensor, a 6x optical zoom lens (rare for this type of “OEM” camera), a large 2.8″ screen, and digital image stabilisation (most likely high ISO settings). It has a 2cm macro mode, 25mb of built in memory, VGA 30fps videos, a 2 year warranty, measures 96 x 61 x 29 mm which is fairly compact for a 6x optical zoom lens, and weighs 180g. The specifications appear identical to the Vivitar Vivicam 8600, and very similar to the 10 megapixel Vivitar Vivicam X60.

“It offers an 8.23-megapixel CCD, an f2.8-4.8 6x optical zoom lens, a massive 2.8 inch LCD monitor, manual exposure control and an anti-shake system, all for a suggested retail price of £249 – though it won’t be available until August. With a specification like that it’s competing head-to-head with high-end models from long-established brands, cameras like the Panasonic Lumix LX-1, Canon PowerShot A620 or the Casio Exilim EX-Z850″
