Olympus SP-510UZ
Olympus have announced the new Olympus SP-510UZ – a 7.1 megapixel update to the Olympus SP-500UZ reviewed here. It features a silver body, a 10x optical zoom lens, and a 2.5″ screen. It features new high ISO modes, a feature that was lacking in the SP-500, the ISO range is ISO50 upto ISO1600 at 7.1 megapixels, and upto ISO2500 / ISO4000 at 3mp. This should help avoid image shake when using the camera in low light or at the longer end of the zoom. Battery life if also improved. The camera should be available next month:

“With the Olympus SP-510 UZ by your side, you’ll never miss the action again. Thanks to its powerful 10x optical zoom lens (equiv. to 38-380mm in 35mm format) photographers can reach out to distant subjects and bring them in for closer scrutiny. 7.1 million pixels means extremely sharp pictures with stunning detail. Olympus’ BrightCapture Technology comes into play boosting the maximum ISO value to an amazing 4000*, delivering great results even in low light conditions. Energy efficient to the extreme, just one set of AA batteries will last for up to 630** shots, letting you shoot way into the night.”
