Ken Rockwell has reviewed the new Canon Powershot SD700 IS / Digital IXUS 800 IS – the compact digital camera features a 4x optical zoom with with image stabilisation, a 2.5″ screen, a 6 megapixel sensor, and ISO upto 800. The Canon Digital IXUS 800 IS is available for £240 from Amazon UK:

“I just bought this jewel of a pocket camera and LOVE it! The SD700 has a stabilized 4x optical zoom lens that covers what a 35 – 140 mm lens would on a 35mm film camera. It’s a bargain, too: about $360 this week. This is Canon’s first pocket camera with Image Stabilization (IS). IS is important because it helps get sharp photos in almost any light without a tripod.
