Canon Powershot G7 Review

Steves Digicams have reviewed the new Canon Powershot G7 - a 10 megapixel digital camera, it features a 6x optical zoom lens (35 mm film equivalent 35–210 mm) with optical image stabilisation (much like the recently announced Canon Powershot A710 IS), a 2.5" screen, face detection, ISO1600/3200, sound recording, an optical viewfinder, and a high resolution 1024 x 768 pixels (15 frames/sec.) video mode, as well as VGA / 30fps video mode. Battery life is rated as 220 shots, the camera measures 106.4 x 71.9 x 42.5 mm (4.2 x 2.8 x 1.7 in.) and weighs Approx. 320 g (11.3 oz.). The Canon Powershot G7 is available for £309 at Amazon

"I was very pleased with this latest addition to Canon's legendary "G" series line. While we miss the Vari-Angle LCD, the new 6x IS lens is a definite plus. The only negative issues we found were the problem with the optical viewfinder and the higher image noise at ISO 800 and 1600. That said, the G7 is a good choice for the beginner, novice, or enthusiast that wants a less bulky alternative to carrying around a dSLR and a bag of lenses."
