Canon Powershot G7Imaging Resource have reviewed the new Canon Powershot G7 – a 10 megapixel digital camera, it features a 6x optical zoom lens (35 mm film equivalent 35–210 mm) with optical image stabilisation (much like the recently announced Canon Powershot A710 IS), a 2.5″ screen, face detection, ISO1600/3200, sound recording, an optical viewfinder, and a high resolution 1024 x 768 pixels (15 frames/sec.) video mode, as well as VGA / 30fps video mode. Battery life is rated as 220 shots, the camera measures 106.4 x 71.9 x 42.5 mm (4.2 x 2.8 x 1.7 in.) and weighs Approx. 320 g (11.3 oz.). The Canon Powershot G7 is available for £312 at Amazon

“Despite the controversy about the missing items common to the rest of the G-series, the Canon PowerShot G7 is a well-built, attractive, and refined image maker. Though I’m bugged by its low ISO image noise and obvious anti-noise signature, there’s no question that printed images from the PowerShot G7 look great, even when enlarged to 16×20 inches. Film never looked this good, especially at ISO 800.”
