Canon Powershot A710 ISTechTree have reviewed the new 7 megapixel Canon Powershot A710 IS – an update to the Canon Powershot A700 – the A710 IS features the same 6x optical zoom lens and 2.5″ screen, ISO upto 800, takes 2 AA batteries, but upgrades the sensor to 7 megapixels and adds optical image stabilisation. Other features include a smart zoom that makes sure image quality is maintined with using digital zoom. The A710 IS is available for £173 from Amazon UK:

“The IS sensors detect the tiny movements of your hands while clicking a picture (also known as ‘camera shake’) and shifts a lens element to compensate for this motion, thus producing much sharper image results at slower shutter speeds than one could get on a camera without IS.”
