Sony Cybershot DSC-H9 Review
Cameralabshave reviewed the new Sony Cybershot DSC-H9. The H9 features a large 3″ screen that tilts upwards, a 15x optical zoom lens, ISO upto 3200, face detection focus, an 8 megapixel sensor and optical image stabilisation (called “Super Steady Shot”). The Sony DSC-H9 is available for £336 from Amazon:
“The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9 certainly has a great deal going for it, but equally a number of aspects which really let it down. On the upside the 15x lens offers a great range bettered only by the Olympus SP-550UZ and the stabilisation really works. The H9 is additionally one of the quickest focusers in its class, so at last we have a non-DSLR which can genuinely take a stab at action or wildlife shots.”

Samsung GX-10 Digital SLR Review
Think Camera have reviewed the new 10 megapixel Samsung GX-10 Digital SLR, based on the Pentax K10D, it features a 2.5″ screen, anti-shake sensor, and weather-sealed body. The GX10 is available for £669 with kit lens, which is around the same price as the K10D!
“In all, Samsung’s GX10 is a good camera. It’s well designed, feature-rich and operates well. If you tweak the default settings it produces very good pictures and is backed up by useful shooting functions – the image stabiliser in particular is worth having. The camera feels good to use and will let you get on with making great pictures. There isn’t much to dislike.”

Nikon Coolpix S50 Review
Digital Camera Review have reviewed the new Nikon Coolpix S50c – it features a 7 megapixel sensor, a 3x optical zoom lens, a 3″ screen, slim body: 21mm, face-priority focus, lens shift Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization, built in wifi support (S50c only, another version, the S50 has the same features but lacks wifi), d-lighting, ISO upto 1600, and a stylish two-tone design. The Nikon Coolpix S50 is available for £214, while the S50c (with wifi) is available for £232:
“The Nikon Coolpix S50 produces very good image and color fidelity in a stylish compact digital camera, and the big 3 inch monitor makes smaller monitors seem obsolete by comparison. While lacking manual controls, the S50 offers new photographers a user-friendly device whose overall performance can only enhance the confidence of novice shooters.”
Sony Cybershot DSC-W80 Review
DCResource have reviewed the new Sony Cybershot DSC-W80. The camera features a 7 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.5″ screen, Super Steady Shot (Optical image stabilisation), ISO upto 3200, and an optical viewfinder, and is available in silver, white, pink and black, and is available for £160 from Amazon.
“I’ve been a fan of Sony’s Cyber-shot W-series cameras for the last few years, so I had high hopes for the DSC-W80. While it has some nice improvements over earlier models, the DSC-W80′s sub-par image quality, lack of manual controls, and clunky interface were a disappointment. Same goes for the camera’s limited face detection and HD video output features, as well as its useless ISO 3200 mode.”
