Fujifilm FinePix F47fd Announced

Fujifilm UK have announced the new 9 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix f47fd, an update to the Fujifilm FinePix F40fd (aka F45fd) - it features a 3x optical zoom lens, ISO upto 2000, a 2.5" screen, face-detection focus, VGA video recording, and a dual memory card slot, accepting both XD and SD memory cards. The camera battery life is rated at 300 shots.

The camera is currently available 'exclusively' from Dixons (PC World, Currys are part of the Dixons group) for £179 and considering the F40fd is available for only £155 I don't see the point in spending the extra money for an extra megapixel. The problem with the camera being only available from Dixons, is that Dixons have marked the "RRP" on their site as £299, which is a rediculous price for an extra megapixel, meaning they can then sell it on "Special Offer" for nearly half the price and try and convince the general public that they're getting a great deal, when really you'd be better off just buying the F40fd instead!
