Kodak Easyshare C513 Announced
Kodak have announced the new Kodak Easyshare C513, a budget 5 megapixel digital camera with a CMOS sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, 2.4" screen, digital image stabilisation and uniquely, it uses a 1/2.5 in. CMOS sensor
"The KODAK EASYSHARE C513 Camera is an entry-level camera designed to produce high-quality images no matter how experienced the photographer may be. The camera is based on the new KODAK KAC-05011 CMOS image sensor, which delivers the image quality and overall performance customers have come to expect from Kodak’s EASYSHARE line of digital cameras while taking advantage of the power, integration and cost benefits associated with CMOS technology."
Generally CMOS sensors have shown up in mobile phones, and unless the CMOS sensor was in a Digital SLR (ala Canon), having a CMOS sensor in a budget digital camera, meant that it was rubbish, but Kodak recently announced that they were going to make CMOS sensors, we'll have to wait and find out what the results are like, but with a low price of $79, this could be the beginning of new era in budget digital cameras.
