Sony Alpha DSLR-A700 DSLR Announced

Sony Alpha A700Sony have announced the new 12 megapixel Sony Alpha A700 Digital SLR – it’s the second model released by Sony, after the A100 was released after the take-over of the Konica Minolta digital SLR division, and as such is the new version of the 7D. The A700 features a 12.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, alpha lens mount, a weather resistant body, super steady shot (anti-shake sensor), dust reduction system, 5fps, 11 point focus, 3″ screen, and dynamic range optimiser. Will the A900 be the next camera announced by Sony?

The new model features advanced imaging technologies and ultra-responsive operation, as well as a lightweight, dust and moisture resistant, magnesium alloy construction common to enthusiast class D-SLR cameras. Like Sony’s mainstream DSLR-A100 model, the new A700 unit incorporates Super SteadyShot® Inside image stabilization in the camera body and is compatible with most Minolta Maxxum® mount lenses in addition to Sony lenses.”
