Sony Alpha A700 Digital SLR Review
Megapixel.net have reviewed the new 12 megapixel Sony Alpha A700 Digital SLR - it's the second model released by Sony, after the A100 was released after the take-over of the Konica Minolta digital SLR division, and as such is the new version of the 7D. The A700 features a 12.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, alpha lens mount, a weather resistant body, super steady shot (anti-shake sensor), dust reduction system, 5fps, 11 point focus, 3" screen, and dynamic range optimiser. The A700 is available for £889 with kit lens:
"If the trend with many digital SLR cameras has been towards making them more compact, with the Alpha 700, Sony is resolutely taking a much more traditional approach to SLR design. Unlike the A100, the A700 is a big camera and has a hefty weight that makes it more comparable to larger, pro SLRs, which is exactly where Sony wants it."
