Sony Alpha A700 Digital SLR Review
Luminous Landscape have reviewed the new 12 megapixel Sony Alpha A700 Digital SLR - it's the second model released by Sony, after the A100 was released after the take-over of the Konica Minolta digital SLR division, and as such is the new version of the 7D. The A700 features a 12.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, alpha lens mount, a weather resistant body, super steady shot (anti-shake sensor), dust reduction system, 5fps, 11 point focus, 3" screen, and dynamic range optimiser. The A700 is available for £889 with kit lens:
"The images the A700 produces have a lovely tonality. With DRO Advanced set to mid-level - I switched between 2 and 3 setting depending on subject matter - the contrast and saturation for most situations is just outstanding with impressively wide dynamic range. And I find the white balance in challenging lighting situations to be very effective."
