Olympus SP-560 Ultra Zoom Review
Digital Camera Review have reviewed the new Olympus SP-560 Ultra Zoom - an update to the SP-550UZ - the 8 megapixel digital camera features a wider angle 18x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 27 - 486mm), 2.5" screen, 24 scene modes, digital and optical image stabilisation, VGA video, 1cm macro, built in guide, ISO upto 6400 (ISO3200 at full resolution), BrightCapture and Shadow Adjustment Technology, Face detection focus, and TruePic III image processor. The SP-560 is available for £224:
"First impressions of the Olympus SP-560 UZ were generally favorable. It is comfortable to hold, has an impressive zoom, and is loaded with features. For those reasons alone, this camera will probably sell well. Living with it is a little harder, especially when one realizes that many of these features are buried in the most appalling menu system yet devised."

MAJOR BATTERY HOG!! either get recharchable situation or don't buy this camera.
I still haven't figured out the menu completely because it's ridiculously complicated. I like the zoom lens, and the viewfinder. The software is kinda weird- it won't let you paste together pictures for a panorama unless the pictures were taken in "panorama mode" which is just stupid.
Overall its been a good lesson for me in shopping around before buying.
