Canon, Sony, Kodak Sell Most Cameras in 2007

CNET News state that Canon, Sony and Kodak have come out as winners in 2007 - shipping the most cameras with Canon at number 1, followed by Sony, Kodak, Samsung, and Nikon. In Digital SLR sales Nikon were ranked 2nd behind Canon. Canon have been in the number one spot for a long time, and offer cameras suitable for all users, from the budget point and shoot Canon A470, the pocket zoom Canon Powershot SX100 IS (pictured), all the way up to high end professional Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III Digital SLR:

"In the total camera market, Canon's 18.8 percent share of units shipped gave it the top rank. Next in line are Sony with 16 percent, Kodak with 9.6 percent, Samsung with 9 percent, Nikon with 8.4 percent, and Olympus with 8.3 percent."
