“The Samsung NV24HD is a bit different to the majority of other compact digital cameras. It has some extra, useful features such as a manual exposure control and High Definition movies. Picture quality is good without really challenging the best cameras. Shutter lag times are also very good.”

Kodak Easyshare Z1085 IS Review
DCResource have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare Z1085 Digital Camera – it’s a 10 megapixel camera with a 5x optical zoom lens, and optical image stabilisation. The Kodak Z1085 IS is available for £125.
“The Kodak EasyShare Z1085 is an inexpensive camera that offers a 5X zoom, optical image stabilization, and an easy-to-use interface, all in a fairly compact body. It also offers a high definition movie mode, which is impressive given the price of the camera. Unfortunately, the Z1085 has a host of flaws, including heavy noise reduction and redeye in photos, poor low light focusing, and below average battery life.”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 Review
Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 – the camera features a wide angle 28mm 10x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilisation, 9 megapixel sensor, and 3.0″ screen. The camera will be available in March in silver, black, and blue. The TZ5 also features Digital Red-eye Correction, and is available for £190
“The camera features an excellent video mode – it records HD (16:9 Aspect Ratio) 1280×720 30fps videos with sound as MOV files and has fairly good compression allowing you to record long videos. The video mode does let you use the optical zoom whilst recording, sound is also recorded even when using the zoom.”

Nikon have announced the new 12.3 megapixel Nikon D90 Digital SLR – the camera features a 3″ screen, live view, 720p High Definition video recording, ISO upto 6400, 11 point AF, and 4.5fps shooting. The D90 will be available in the US from September 2008 at an MSRP of $999.95 for body only and $1299.95 for body and new AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens.

Canon have announced the new Canon EOS 50D Digital SLR – an update to the 40D – it features a new 15.1 megapixel sensor, 6.3fps shooting, Canon’s latest DIGIC 4 image processor, ISO upto 12800, 3″ screen with live view, sensor cleaning, 9 point AF, and face detection. Body only will be available from end of September 2008 priced at £1199.99:
