Nikon D3x Digital SLR Review ByThom
ByThom have reviewed the new Nikon D3x 24.5mp Full Frame Digital SLR – it feature ISO upto 1600, 5fps shooting, 51-point AF, a 3″ screen with live view, and magnesium alloy body. The camera is available from Amazon
“Well, Nikon’s not going to like my answer this time around. My answer is “no, most of you shouldn’t.” Sure, there are a few of you that can justify the extra price for the pixels, and the pixels themselves are very nice, arguably better than the Canon and Sony offerings in my initial testing. As I’ve written above, the D3x is probably the best DSLR in terms of image quality so far. But the problem is value. There simply isn’t US$5700 worth of value in a D3x over a D700.”
Canon Powershot SX1 IS Review
Photography BLOG have reviewed the new 10 megapixel Canon Powershot SX1 IS – it features a wide angle 20x optical zoom lens, optical image stabilisation, ISO1600, a 10 megapixel CMOS sensor which allows HD video recording (1080p), 4fps shooting, HD out, swivel 2.8″ screen. The camera is available for £399
“Whereas we concluded the SX10 IS felt like a lot of camera for the money, it’s hard to get away from the fact that with the SX1 IS the opposite feels true. If you were originally considering the SX10 IS you could pay a little more and get a ‘proper’ DSLR, albeit without the extensive lens range or video clips, but the SX1 IS is more expensive than most consumer-level DSLRs already.”

Olympus Mju Stylus 1050SW Review
DPInterface have reviewed the new Olympus Mju Stylus 1050SW – the ultra compact 10 megapixel camera is waterproof to 3m, shockproof to 1.5m, freezeproof to -10c, and features a 3x optical zoom lens, face detection, shadow adjustment, perfect shot preview, and 2.7″ screen. It is available in black, gold, silver, pink and blue for £174
“The waterproof, drop proof and freezeproof Olympus Stylus 1050SW is a decent addition to Olympus’ rugged line of cameras. Over its siblings, the Stylus 1050SW actually offers nothing out of the blue (besides Tap Control), revolutionary or different… instead, it takes a little bit, here and there from the present Stylus SW cameras, and mixes them into a single compact camera with a sliding lens cover.”
