Sigma DP2The Online Photographer have reviewed the new Sigma DP2 – it features a new f2.8 41mm lens (35mm equiv) – a 14 megapixel foveon sensor, a new TRUE II Image Processing Engine, RAW support and 2.5″ screen. The Sigma DP2 is available for £599

“Frankly, I was not as impressed with the DP2’s Foveon technology as I was with its lens and the fact that it has such a relatively large sensor in such a small camera. After using the DP2 daily for over a week I found it to be a sluggish, noisy, unreliable, and generally charmless device which I ultimately decided to return for a refund. That’s the bottom line of my opinion.”

Sony H20

DPReview have reviewed the new Sony Cybershot DSC-H20 as part of their super zoom group test. The H20 is a compact ultra zoom camera with a 10x optical zoom lens, 10 megapixel sensor, optical image stabilisation, 720p HD Video recording, 3″ screen, and face and smile detection. The Sony H20 is available for £223

“As we’ve mentioned above the Sony H20 differentiates itself from the rest of the pack by its 38-380mm zoom range which doesn’t really give you anything you could call a wide-angle but at the same time offers plenty of reach at the long end of the zoom. If this is a good or bad thing entirely depends on you photographic needs but for general use some more wide-angle would certainly be recommendable.”
