Panasonic TZ6

We’ve just published our review of the new Panasonic Lumix TZ6 (aka ZS1) – it features a 25mm Ultra Wide-angle 12x Optical Zoom lens, optical image stabilisation, 2.7″ screen, 10 megapixel sensor, WVGA: 848 x 480 pixels, 30 fps video, and intelligent auto mode. The TZ6 is available for £219.

“The Panasonic TZ6 improves on a few key areas, and makes an impressive camera even better, the camera now offers an even wider 12x optical zoom lens with image stabilisation, all in the same compact body and it will still fit in your pocket. Image quality is excellent, with lower noise than the TZ5 and excellent detail.”

“The new Canon EOS Rebel T1i is a relatively small digital SLR camera with 15 megapixels, a nice and large 3 inch LCD, 3.4 FPS burst mode and it delivers good image quality. If you’re looking to step up from using compacts, the Canon EOS Rebel T1i aka EOS 500D is worth a look.”

Olympus Mju 9000

Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new pocket zoom Olympus Mju Stylus 9000 – a compact camera with a wide angle 10x optical zoom lens, 12 megapixel sensor, 2.7″ screen, image stabilisation, 1cm macro mode, and face detection. It is available in black and blue for £238.

“The Olympus Mju 9000 is a sensibly designed and well made camera with a very useful zoom range. It is easy to use, performs well and produces good results in most situations. However the lack of some important features such as an AF assist lamp or any colour adjustments limit its appeal somewhat, especially considering the relatively high price.”

Panasonic TZ7DPExpert have reviewed the new Panasonic Lumix TZ7 – it features a 25mm Ultra Wide-angle 12x Optical Zoom lens, optical image stabilisation, 3″ screen, 12 megapixel sensor, HD Movie Recording in AVCHD Lite with Dolby Stereo Digital Creator, and intelligent auto mode. The Panasonic Lumix TZ7 is available for £333.

“In the meantime we took the camera to the Zoo to try out its AVCHD [that is high definition video] capabilities. We were impressed. It’s impossible to give a real idea of what the camera can do on this blog site, but this little clip gives some indication of the accuracy of focus and exposure and shows the remarkable resolution of the video mode. The TZ7 takes the “hybrid” concept onto a new plane.”
