Canon Digital IXUS 110 ISKen Rockwell reviews the new Canon Digital IXUS 110 IS (aka SD960 IS) – and he also points out that the new 2.8″ widescreen may look great, but that if you’re taking 4:3 aspect ratio photos then the screen size is a tiny 2.3″ – the new ultra compact 12 megapixel camera has a wide angle 28mm 4x optical zoom lens, 2.8″ wide-screen with 16:9 aspect ratio, image stabilisation, HD 16:9 Movies (720p) and HDMI connection. It is available in silver, gold, pink, or blue from £193.

Canon Digital IXUS 110 IS Back

“The SD960’s smallest problem is its tiny 2.3″ (effective) LCD. Not only is it small, the black waste bands on the sides make it tough to see where your picture ends and the dark bands start when composing darker images.” source: Ken Rockwell.

“The PowerShot SD970 IS Digital ELPH is a stylish, ultra-compact camera. The body is made almost entirely of metal, and it not only looks good, but it feels solid in your hands. Zumi Digital

Photojojo are selling the “Zumi Digital” (aka the Superheadz Digital Harinezumi) for $160 – the “toy” / retro digital camera features a 2 megapixel CMOS sensor, VGA video recording at 25fps, ISO100 or ISO800, a viewfinder, an LCD screen, and is perhaps the most recent incarnation of a Lomo camera in digital form?

“The Zumi has been carefully crafted to take digital images and videos that have the look and feel of vintage film (lens flare, vignetting and all). Her “perfectly flawed” processing chip combined with a macro setting make digital 8MM magic — making your everyday life look like an art house flick.”
