Pentax K-7 Digital SLR Review
NeoCamera have reviewed the new Pentax K7 Digital SLR – the new weather resistant camera features a 14.6mp sensor with HD video recording at 720p, HDMI output, AF assist, electronic level, HDR mode, 5.2fps shooting and 3″ live view screen. The camera is available from Amazon UK body only:
“Exposure is good with the K-7, specially with subjects that fall within the camera’s wide dynamic range. When a subject has more contrast than the K-7 can capture, it tends to overexpose by half a stop or so. This is the way to facilitate printing of unmodified images but for a more natural look, negative exposure-compensation may be needed.”

Ricoh GR Digital III Review
DPExpert has reviewed the new Ricoh GR Digital III, an update to the GR Digital II, it features a new wide angle f1.9 28mm lens, a 10 megapixel sensor, 1cm macro mode, ISO1600, 3″ VGA screen, and 370 shot battery life, double range double shot, RAW support, 1:1 aspect ratio photos, electronnic level, exposure bracketing, 30fps VGA video recording. It also has a new “pixel output interpolation algorithm” to prevent overexposed areas (see below), and a full press snap shutter release that takes the photo instantly at a set focal distance. The new GR Digital III is available for £519
“This camera in its various forms has attracted a loyal customer base, and it’s not surprising. Image quality is reliably good, and Ricoh make a point of the fact that they are not in the pixel wars, favouring better image quality over pixel numbers. Ricoh compacts have gained a deserved reputation for responsiveness, being just about as quick on the trigger as a DSLR.”

Nikon D5000 Digital SLR Reviews
NeutralDay has reviewed the new Nikon D5000 Digital SLR – it features a 12 megapixel CMOS sensor, 2.7″ live view swivel screen, HD video recording (720p), ISO3200, adaptive D-lighting, dust reduction, 11-point AF and 19 scene modes. The Nikon D5000 is available for £579 with Nikon VR kit Lens.
“Build quality is very solid, and as I’ve come to expect, the Nikon D5000 delivers superb ergonomics. They’ve done a good job at keeping a comfortable grip, and shutter and button placement are just excellent, though some folks will wonder where the dedicated ISO button might be? The camera body is small, but beefy, and features some “styling” but nothing to extreme.”

Nikon Coolpix S1000pj Review
Photoxels have reviewed the new Nikon Coolpix S1000PJ with built in projector! The camera features a 12 megapixel sensor, wide angle 5x optical zoom lens (28mm – 140mm), Hybrid VR (Lens-shift and Electronic Vibration Reduction), 2.7″ screen, and built in VGA projector. The camera is available in silver or black for £339
“The Nikon S1000pj is capable of giving good image quality, with good detail and low noise, at ISO 80 and with the lens set to wide-angle. At full tele, image quality is average to good at ISO 80. Overall, the images are not as detailed as we would expect, appearing at times quite soft, especially at full tele, requiring some sharpening in post processing. As is usual with cameras in this category, images at higher ISOs suffer from noise and detail loss.”

Fuji’s Dual Image Stabilization helps to keep image blur from camera shake out of your images.”

Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR Review
DPExpert have reviewed the new Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR – it features a wide angle 10x optical zoom lens (27-270mm), a 10 megapixel SuperCCD EXR sensor that provides high resolution, high sensitivity, and high dynamic range modes, an anti-shake sensor, 2.7″ screen, SD card support, 5 Film Simulation Modes, and VGA video recording at 30fps. The Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR is available from Amazon for £210
“This 10 megapixel camera has a 27–270mm (film equivalent) lens and is billed as the “world’s smallest 10X zoom digital camera”. Image stabilisation is by sensor shift. This is the second Fujifilm EXR camera which tackles three of the problems plaguing compacts, poor dynamic range, image noise and too much depth of field.”

Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 Camera Review

Pocket Lint have reviewed the new Fujifilm Real 3D W1 camera. The camera features two 3x optical zoom lenses, two 10 megapixel sensors, 3:2 and 4:3 aspect ratio, 3D VGA video recording (zoom is not available whilst recording), ISO1600, 8cm macro in 2D mode, and a 2.8″ screen. The camera should be available in September
“Snapping 3D images is great fun and the W1 gives you plenty of scope to explore 3D photography. But there is a slight stumbling block at the moment: viewing your images. Sure, the screen on the back gives you an instant viewing option, but beyond this you might find yourself too far ahead of the curve. Fujifilm also sell the V1 viewer (£370) which will act as a photo frame for showing off your images, but it’s an expensive option. Fujifilm will also be offering an option to print your images, but that currently requires them to be printed in Japan and sent to you (at a yet-to-be-determined price for the UK). ”
