Nikon D300s Digital SLR Review at Photocrati

Nikon D300sPhotocrati has reviewed the new Nikon D300s – an update to the D300 – it features a 12.3 megapixel sensor, 7fps shooting, 3″ LCD, CF and SD support, live view, HD Video recording, and ISO 200-3200. The D300s is available from Amazon

“Not one but two memory card slots, ladies and gentlemen. You can now load up a CF card as before, but you can add an SD card so that they operate in tandem. One card is designated as “primary” while the “secondary” card can collect the overflow, back up the primary, or store JPEGs while the main card stores RAW (NEF) files. I can’t tell you how many times I could have used a second card in my D300. This feature alone makes it very tempting to upgrade.”

    2. The D300s is the most pro camera before going full frame and upping the game FX format. This is a DX Format camera with the F-Mount so all current DX lens will fit.

    This is an awesome camera and is very fast with a 7fps and can be upped to 8fps when adding the battery grip. The two storage cards have come in very useful for me and it my friends wedding recently, found to be very versatile. For those who like their presets such as sports, AUTO (shame on you) and portrait, no dials for these – remember it’s aiming for those semi pro types..

    As of writing this the D7000 has just been announced, but this is meant to be an upgrade from D90 so yes, 1080p movies and better CMOS sensor but the D300s still have the speed and other factors which makes it more appealing.
