Olympus EP2 Black
Olympus has announced the new Olympus PEN E-P2 Black Edition – an update to the E-P1 (12.3mp, 3″ live view, anti-shake sensor, 4fps) – it is being made available with the Olympus 17mm Pancake lens in black, FL-14 flash accessory in black, and new “F” lens cap. The special edition black kit will be available for $999 US dollars, in October.

Olympus has also announced two new Micro Four Thirds lenses: “M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75-300 MM F4.8-6.7 (150-600mm equivalent) and M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150MM F4.0-5.6 (80-300mm equivalent), which feature a high-speed, silent autofocus during still shooting and HD movie capture.”

Sony has announced the new Sony Alpha A55 Digital SLR – it features a 16.2MP High Resolution sensor, Translucent Mirror f/Fast Focus, 921K Dot 3″ Tiltable LCD screen with live view, 3x 18-55mm kit Lens (Equiv to 27-82.5mm), Built-In GPS, Full HD 1080/60i Video, 3D Sweep Panorama Mode, Quick AF for Full HD Movie Capture, 10 Frames Per Second Continuous Shooting, Up to ISO 12800 Sensitivity, anti-shake sensor. Should be available in October, and you can pre-order it from B&H.

Canon EOS 60D DSLR
Canon has announced the new Canon EOS 60D Digital SLR – it features HD video and swivel screen – 18 MP APS-C CMOS sensor, Advanced creative features, Vari-angle 7.7cm (3.0”) 3:2 ratio LCD, Full HD movies, DIGIC 4, ISO 100-6400, H:12800, 5.3fps shooting for up to 58 JPEGs, 9-point cross type AF System, iFCL metering with 63-zone Dual-layer Sensor, it should be available in September.

Sony Alpha A580 DSLR
(24/Aug/2010) Sony has announced the new Sony Alpha A580 – a “traditional” Digital SLR with optical viewfinder, 18-55mm kit lens, built in steadyshot / anti-shake sensor, Full HD video recording, 16 megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor, 7fps shooting, 3 inch 921k pixel screen, HDR auto, dust reduction, and ISO upto 12800. The Sony Alpha A580 is available for £649 with kit lens.

Olympus mju 7050 Colours
Olympus has announced the new Olympus Stylus / Mju 7050 – the compact camera features a 14 megapixel sensor, a wide angle 7x optical zoom lens (28-mm), 2gb internal memory, anti-shake sensor, 3″ screen, 720p HD Video with dedicated record button, magic filters including four magic filters that work in video mode, AF tracking, iAuto mode, SD/SDHC support, USB charging, and backlit buttons. (Japanese release only?)

Olympus has announced three new compact budget digital cameras, all features wide angle lenses: Olympus FE-5040, shown above, features a wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens (26 – 130mm), 12 megapixel sensor, iAuto mode (intelligent auto automatically chooses the scene mode for you), 2.7″ screen, AF tracking, magic filters (Pop Art, Pin Hole, Fisheye, Drawing, Soft Focus, Punk), 13 scene modes, USB battery charging, slim (20.1mm) metal body, ISO100-1600, VGA 30fps video with sound, SD/SDHC support, and will be available in orange, silver, black and “raspberry red”.

The Olympus FE-5050, shown above, is the highest specification of the three, with a wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens (26-130mm), 14 megapixel sensor, iAuto mode, 2.7″ screen, AF-tracking, magic filters, 14 scene modes, USB battery charging, slim (18.8mm) metal body, ISO64-1600, VGA 30fps video, SD/SDHC support, and will be available in silver, black, “Champagne Gold” and lighter pink.

Ricoh CX4 Black

Ricoh has announced the new Ricoh CX4 – an update to the CX3 (read our review here) – it features improved battery life (330 vs 310), redesigned grip at the front, and redesigned buttons at the back (same position, just slightly larger), ISO100 – 3200 (compared to ISO80 – 3200 on the CX3), a new creative shooting mode (moves some of the scene modes to the C dial position, and adds Soft Focus, Cross Process, Toy Camera), Night Landscape Multi-shot, subject tracking AF, and is available in black, “champagne silver” and “purple pink”.
