Olympus VR-310 Back

“At last a camera that proves you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a big kick out of great quality pictures. The new Olympus VR-310 offers unrivalled value for money – a combination of the newest technology, the most compact design and the easiest handling at a sensationally low price. This compact camera has what it takes for a fast-paced, high-tech lifestyle and in this price category it’s head and shoulders above the rest. None of the VR-310’s rivals comes close to its startling combination of features: a powerful optical zoom, ultra-slim dimensions, seven creative Magic Filter options and HD Movie capability. With this impressive spec, the VR-310 delivers more than just value-for-money. The quality of the stills and movies it captures is exceptional, thanks not least to the 10x super wide 24-240mm* zoom lens that defies the camera’s slim contours. With automatic features like Dual Image Stabilisation and Intelligent Automatic Mode (i-Auto), it’s the ideal standard-bearer for Olympus’ next-generation VR Series that makes easy-to-use, super smart, super zoom compacts available at an unbeatable price. The VR-310 is available for €129 from January 2011.”

seems like this new olympus vr310 has taken a step back by recording video clips as .avi files rather than .mpg4 files? .avi of course are not native to apple products. any idea why they would have gone away from a universal mpg 4 file back to .avi files
