Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700DCResource have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1564:

"It's hard not to like the Nikon D700. It offers a full frame sensor, stunning photo quality, and blazing fast performance -- just like the much more expensive D3 -- all in a body not much larger than the D300. There's very little to complain about here -- the camera has a slight tendency to overexpose, it's not terribly easy to use, and the software bundle isn't the greatest. And that's about it. If you'll allow just this one baseball metaphor: Nikon has hit one out of the park with the D700."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700DPReview have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1564:

"Unsurprisingly the D700 produces excellent output that is very similar to the D3’s. At low sensitivities the D700’s image results are very clean, virtually noise- and artifact-free and look pleasantly ‘unprocessed’. If you prefer a crisper, more consumer-friendly look to your images there’s more than enough latitude for fine-tuning the sharpness, contrast and saturation settings – either in-camera or in post processing."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700The Online Photographer have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1615:

"Even after two months, I think Nikon's new D700 DSLR is the most perfect camera that I have ever held in my hands, and I've held a lot of them. In terms of features, ergonomics, build quality, image quality, and gestalt, I can find no fault with it. It is a state-of-the art-imaging tool that for me continues to be well worth its price tag."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700Digital Camera Info have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1713:

"The Nikon D700 and its big brother, the D3, allow you to take available light pictures in near darkness, with remarkably little image noise. This is not a subtle enhancement: it opens the door to new photographic possibilities. While the most spectacular examples come when you crank up the ISO setting to 6400 or more and go lurking in the dark, the option to shoot at 800 or even 1600 and achieve a hand-holdable shutter speed wielding a telephoto lens, while paying a minimal price is added image noise, is not to be taken lightly."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700DPExpert have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1713:

"Someone has calculated that for a digital camera to match the resolving power of film it needs to have 14 megapixels on a full frame sensor. If that is right then this camera comes close to the ideal. Like its close siblings, the D300 and the D3, the D700 is superbly responsive. All functions are lightning fast and the 51 point auto-focus is outstanding. If you can afford it then run, don’t walk, to your nearest camera shop."

"Is it worth the asking price? Well that depends on your own would-be use and needs. For the amateur there are more affordable alternatives, but for the professional needing full frame capability it can be considered a steal."

Nikon D700Ken Rockwell has reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1799:

"The Nikon D700 is Nikon's top new amateur camera. Unless you're a full-time sports, news or action pro, the D700 replaces the D3 for studio, wedding, portrait, nature and landscape pros, as well as all advanced amateur photographers."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700Imaging Resource have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1799:

"I think any photographer with experience would fall in love with the Nikon D700. There's something to be said for having a 24mm lens work like a 24mm lens again, and the extremely high ISO setting available on this fine digital SLR make once-unthinkable images as easy as a press of the ISO button and a twist of the Main command dial. If you've ever laboriously push-processed film to ISO 3,200 and marveled that you got anything at all (usually a grainy mush), you'll understand the pleasure of getting such high quality in near darkness from the Nikon D700."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700Cameralabs have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1799:

"But today we have the Nikon D700 which is by far one of the most impressive DSLRs we’ve tested. Indeed, beyond the minor nitpicking mentioned above, there’s really little we can criticise it on. Depending on your viewpoint it either represents a smaller, lighter and more affordable way to enjoy the D3’s superb image quality, or equips the D300 form factor with a significant step-up in high-sensitivity performance."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1799:

"I'm sure there are some D3 and D300 owners who are cursing Nikon right now for bringing out a camera that combines the best of those two cameras for a relatively reasonable price. The three cameras should pretty much cover most people's needs, though Nikon still requires a higher resolution model for some pro needs. The D700 covers a lot of bases, though, and for the most part does it very well. I have some reservations about the vignetting, and would be interested to hear how other users' lenses perform, while the sometimes slow AF is also mildly frustrating."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700Think Camera have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. The Nikon D700 DSLR is available for £1860:

"There's no point in beating around the bush - the Nikon D700 goes straight for the jugular; it's a beast of a camera. There are very few downsides, except perhaps for that hefty £2000 body only price tag. Sounds expensive, but in perspective it's among the most affordable pro-grade DSLR; not only that, but it's up there with the best of them."

Nikon D700 Digital SLR Review

Nikon D700Luminous Landscape have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. It will be available in July:

"Since the camera uses the exact same sensor and support electronics, if you know what a D3's image quality looks like, you know what a D700's output is like. It's as simple as that. And, in case you've have been under a rock for the past year, that means among the lowest noise and otherwise highest image quality of any camera."

Nikon D700StillePhotographie have reviewed the new FX-format digital SLR Nikon D700 - a 12 megapixel full frame sensor Digital SLR with live view, ISO 200 to 6400, 5fps shooting, sensor cleaning, a 3" VGA screen and more. It will be available in July:

"The overall concept of the D700 is a very attractive one - a price, which is still more or less affordable, a camera with a lot of good and valuable features and which takes very good images. It is a very interesting and future oriented alternative to the D3 and should attract lots of happy customers. If I would have the money, I would sign into the already long waiting list of people who want to get it."
