Leica M9

Leica has announced the new Leica M9 - the smallest full frame sensor camera in the world - it features an 18 megapixel full frame sensor, 2.5" screen, optical viewfinder, flash hot shoe, shutter speed dial, sensor cleaning, ISO2500, 2fps shooting, uses Leica M-mount lenses, and will be available in Silver and Black, or Black for £4850 now

"The combination of an extremely high-resolution sensor, high performance M lenses and careful processing of the digital picture data provides the best picture results under all conditions. The proprietry CCD sensor in the LEICA M9 with18 Million Pixels, allows the utilisation of the full 35 mm format. The sensor of the M9 uses a newly developed cover glass to eliminate infrared light contamination and allows the utilisation of existing Leica M lenses with out a loss of image quality. The use of external UV/IR filters is not required."

Leica M8 Digital RangeFinder Review

Leica M8 Rangefinder in BlackThinkCamera has tested the 10 megapixel Leica M8 Digital Rangefinder in Iraq. The M8 is available in Black or Black and Silver, the Leica M8 is Leica's first digital rangefinder. It features a 2.5" screen, and has a number of lenses and accessories available for it. The M8 is available from Amazon:

"Any relationship with the Leica M8 is bound to be a complicated one. There are many things about the Leica M8 that are easy to like, but it's not a 'fast' camera, and it's not always easy to use. Taking pictures with a Leica M8 is a massive culture shock after using a modern DSLR with a zoom lens. But there's no question about image quality; for naturalness and real-looking pictures, the Leica M8 has few equals."

Leica M8 Digital Rangefinder Field Test

Leica M8 Rangefinder in BlackMichael Kamber has tested the 10 megapixel Leica M8 Digital Rangefinder in Iraq. The M8 is available in Black or Black and Silver, the Leica M8 is Leica's first digital rangefinder. It features a 2.5" screen, and has a number of lenses and accessories available for it. The M8 is available from Amazon:

"When I put my 28mm lens (37mm equivalent) on the M8, the frame lines are quite loose. The image takes in considerably more than is shown in the frame lines. Of course rangefinders were never meant to frame as accurately as SLR’s. Yet the M8 frame lines are simply inaccurate."
