Kodak Easyshare M1093 IS Review

Kodak M1093 ISTrusted Reviews have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare M1093 IS digital camera - it features a 10 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, 3" screen, HD video and photo support, and ISO upto 3200. The M1093 IS is avilable in silver, black and red for £118

"For a low-priced camera the Koadk EasyShare M1093 IS is surprisingly well made with a decent specification, including an outstanding HD video mode. It is slim and fairly stylish, and can take a pretty good picture under most circumstances, but it is let down by a distinctly non-smart Smart Capture mode, weak flash and poor overall performance."

Kodak Easyshare M893 IS Review

Kodak M893Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare M893 IS Digital Camera - it's an 8 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.7" screen, ISO upto 1600, face detection, and image stabilisation. It is available for £118

"Priced at just £80 the Kodak M893 IS stands out among other very cheap digital cameras because of its mechanical image stabilisation, but in most other respects you get what you pay for. Overall build quality and design are of a rather low standard, and while start-up and single-shot speeds are adequate, other aspects of the performance are quite poor, especially autofocus and low light capability."

Kodak Easyshare Z8612 IS Review

Kodak Z8612Cameras.co.uk have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare Z8612 IS Digital Camera - it's an 8 megapixel camera with a 12x optical zoom lens, a 2.5" screen, ISO100 - 3200, and optical image stabilisation. The Kodak Easyshare Z8612 is available for £119

"If you are looking for a camera with some extra zoom and are put off by size and complexity then the Easyshare Z8612 IS may provide the answer. Although much larger than a pocket camera the Easyshare Z8612 IS is smaller than most super zoom models. Despite the manual exposure controls on offer I also found the camera fairly straightforward. It is also one of the cheaper super zoom cameras."

Kodak Easyshare Z8612 IS Review

Kodak Z8612Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare Z8612 IS Digital Camera - it's an 8 megapixel camera with a 12x optical zoom lens, a 2.5" screen, ISO100 - 3200, and optical image stabilisation. The Kodak Easyshare Z8612 is available for £125

"The Kodak EasyShare Z8612 IS may be relatively cheap for a long-zoom model, but its numerous shortcomings mean that it’s not particularly good value for money. Build quality is below average, it has a number of annoying handling problems, and overall performance is very slow. While image quality isn’t completely awful there are also some problems in this area."

Kodak Easyshare Z1085 IS Review

Kodak Z1085DCResource have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare Z1085 Digital Camera - it's a 10 megapixel camera with a 5x optical zoom lens, and optical image stabilisation. The Kodak Z1085 IS is available for £125.

"The Kodak EasyShare Z1085 is an inexpensive camera that offers a 5X zoom, optical image stabilization, and an easy-to-use interface, all in a fairly compact body. It also offers a high definition movie mode, which is impressive given the price of the camera. Unfortunately, the Z1085 has a host of flaws, including heavy noise reduction and redeye in photos, poor low light focusing, and below average battery life."

Kodak Easyshare V1073 V1273 Review

Kodak V1273Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare V1273 and V1073 Digital Cameras - the V1273 is a 12 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom lens, 3" touch screen, and optical image stabilisation. The Kodak Easyshare V1273 is available for £181:

"Sometimes what appears to be a technological advance is actually a step backwards. Both the V1073 and V1273 are beautiful to look at, and the touch-screen interface, while a problem for some people, is well designed and operates fairly smoothly. However both cameras suffer from slow overall performance and serious image quality issues."

Buying a Digital Camera for Children?

Kodak C613Photodoto have written an excellent guide on introducing your children to photography. They suggest starting off with an older 2 megapixel camera and seeing how it goes from there, if they like it, then move on to a better camera, such as the Kodak Easyshare C613 or C713 (£49 at Amazon).

"Don’t rush out and buy a new camera for your child’s first attempt. You’ve probably got an old camera somewhere, it doesn’t matter if it’s a film camera or an early digital camera with 2 MP, as long as it works it’ll do. If your child shows interest for more than a week or so then the chances are a new camera just for him will be used and appreciated."

My only concern with this is the the extending lens could be easily damaged, and while the Olympus 1030SW would survive rough treatment, it's price is a little too much for small kids. Are there any new cameras available that don't have an extending lens, but are still budget friendly?

Kodak Easyshare V1273 Review

Kodak V1273ThinkCamera have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare V1273 Digital Camera - it's a 12 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom lens, 3" touch screen, and optical image stabilisation. The Kodak Easyshare V1273 is available for £184:

"All this combines to ensure that the V1273 is our favourite Kodak for a while and a decent all round compact for someone looking to undertake the occasional bit of video work. Only the rather tricky touch-screen interface lets the package down, and if you persevere with that, get used to it, and operate it more confidently, then we're sure this Kodak will grow on you."

Kodak Z1012 ISDigital Camera Info have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare Z1012 IS - a 10 megapixel camera, it features a 12x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilisation, ISO upto 3200, full manual mode, face detection, and a 2.5" screen. The camera is available from £199:

"Overall, the Kodak Z1012 IS usually succeeds in producing nice pictures, but some parts of the camera just get in the way. At the end of the day for me, judging a camera comes down to its ability to produce a good image. On this score, this camera is generally a success."
