Ricoh GX200 Review at Think Camera

Ricoh GX200Think Camera have reviewed the new 12 megapixel Ricoh GX200 - it features a wide angle 24mm 3x optical zoom lens, vibration correction, 1cm macro, ISO1600, and a 2.7" screen. The GX200 with electronic viewfinder included, is available for £375, the GX200 Standard will be available for £349.

"The Ricoh GX200 wants to be the best high-end compact on the market, and it does give it a darn good shot. However, it's not hugely different from its predecessor - the GX100. Improvements are marginal rather than monumental, with the ISO noise and Auto Flash issues of old still remaining with this model, it's more moderate upgrade than new classic."

Ricoh R8 Review at ePhotoZine

Ricoh Caplio R8ePhotoZine have reviewed the new Ricoh Caplio R8. The R8 is a 10 megapixel update to the R7 - it features a newly designed body available in black or silver, a wide angle 7.1x optical zoom lens (28 - 200mm equivalent), image stabilisation, ISO 1600, 2.7" screen with 460k pixels, and a 1cm macro mode. The camera is available in Silver, Two-tone Silver and Black or Black for £185:

"I took great pleasure using the Ricoh R8 with it's ease of use and decent features. It also looks good on the arm with the vintage styling. It's just a shame that the performance isn't up to scratch. I reported that the images have a look like they're over sharpened giving a painted look. I think this may now be down to the noise that the sensor generates."

Ricoh G600 Digital Camera Review

Ricoh G600PhotoReview have reviewed the new Ricoh G600 - a new waterproof 10 megapixel digital camera - it features a wide angle 5x optical zoom lens (28-140mm), 2.7" screen, 1cm macro mode, ISO upto 3200, digital image stabilisation, 360 shot battery life and a waterproof (1m depth), dustproof, freezeproof (to -10 C) and shockproof (1.5m) body. The camera is available for £334

"With its impeccable water, dust and impact-resisting credentials, we thought the G600 would be a good camera to take on our recent trip into the Simpson Desert. Consequently, most of the test shots used for this review were taken on this trip. Unfortunately, during the trip we found the absence of an optical viewfinder a real barrier to satisfying photography because the legibility of the LCD declines dramatically in bright outdoor lighting."

Ricoh GX200 Review at Photography BLOG

Ricoh GX200Photography BLOG have reviewed the new 12 megapixel Ricoh GX200 - it features a wide angle 24mm 3x optical zoom lens, vibration correction, 1cm macro, ISO1600, and a 2.7" screen. The GX200 with electronic viewfinder included, is available for £399, the GX200 Standard will be available for £349.

"The Ricoh GX200 builds on the success of an already unique and very capable camera, the GX100, adding a small number of significant new features and a larger number of "nice-to-haves". By far the most important improvement is the operational speed of RAW mode. The 6 second file write time and lack of continuous shooting offered by the GX100 has thankfully been replaced by near-instantenous write times in single-shot mode and the ability to shoot up to 5 RAW images at 2fps in continuous mode."

Ricoh GX200 Review at Trusted Reviews

Ricoh GX200Trusted Reviews have reviewed the new 12 megapixel Ricoh GX200 - it features a wide angle 24mm 3x optical zoom lens, vibration correction, 1cm macro, ISO1600, and a 2.7" screen. The GX200 with electronic viewfinder included, is available for £399, the GX200 Standard will be available for £349.

"Ricoh has tried to make a camera for the enthusiast photographer, a camera that the pro or enthusiast could slip into his pocket for a day and make sure he can still get a great shot. Design-wise, the company has pulled it off. The tough little camera is a beauty to hold and a joy to use, and I couldn't wait to see the pictures. It's the imaging aspect that's a disappointment though, and really lets the camera and Ricoh's ambitions down. The 12MP sensor and processing combination is frankly poor."

Ricoh R8 Review at DPExpert

Ricoh Caplio R8DPExpert have reviewed the new Ricoh Caplio R8. The camera is available in Silver, Two-tone Silver and Black or Black for £225:

"We subjected the Ricoh R8 to the tourist test – taking it around town snapping the sorts of things that any traveller might photograph in a foreign city. The results are consistently good, helped in no small part by the outstanding, distortion-free lens. There are plenty of noise reduction artefacts visible at full image size, so this is not a camera for making A3 prints or for severe cropping of the picture."
