It's not without a few faults, but the excellent handling, wide zoom range, fast performance and superb low-light focusing make this a camera that can cope in most situations. "The market for digital cameras with extra long zoom lenses is crowded and it takes something special for a camera to really stand out. In my view the Fuji Finepix S2000HD does not match up to the best cameras in this section. It is true that it is not the most expensive super zoom camera, but I feel by paying that bit more you will get better value for money."

"So, is the S2000HD alternatively a good option for the relative photographic novice who nevertheless requires a large zoom reach? The answer is pretty much yes. It's fun to use, delivers the results and even if, in the final analysis, they're neither as sharp or as evenly exposed as some of the competition, overall they're perfectly acceptable given the build and asking price."

"Fujifilm's new FinePix S2000HD packs a lot into an affordable camera body. Equipped with a 10-megapixel CCD sensor and 15x optical zoom lens, it also provides full compatibility with high definition television (HDTV) for both still photographs and movies. There are plenty of shooting modes to choose from, including P, S and M settings - but no aperture priority option."
