"The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is an ultra-thin, stylish camera that offers an impressive feature set for the price. Those features include a 4X zoom lens, image stabilization, face and smile detection, a large touchscreen LCD display (though the interface is frustrating), and more. While it takes good photos outdoors, it doesn't perform terribly well in unusual or dim light, or at high sensitivities."

"I guess it was always going to be a big ask, but the Sony DSC T77 does not quite match up to the style and looks when it comes to picture quality. You will still be able to take good snapshots with the camera, but you will also find situations where it will struggle compared to the best pocket cameras."

"The Sony Cyber-shot T77 is quite expensive, but compared to other luxury compacts it’s really not too bad. Its big selling point is its ultra-slim size and pocket-friendly weight, but it is a well designed and solidly made camera that will look good anywhere. The touch screen interface works well if you have the right sized fingers, and the overall performance is exceptionally good, especially in low light."

Sony Cybershot T77 Announced

Sony have announced the new 10 megapixel Sony Cybershot T77 - the ultra compact camera features a 3" touch screen, a 4x optical zoom lens with image stabilisation, and smile shutter. The DSC-T77 camera replaces the former T70 model and will be available in brown, green, pink, black and silver in late September for about $300.

"The 10-megapixel T77 camera is Sony’s thinnest model at less than 5/8 of an inch with a 3-inch, 16 x 9 touch panel LCD screen. It features updated intelligent scene recognition technology, Smile Shutter™ and face detection technologies with child and adult priority, as well as high sensitivity shooting (up to ISO 3200), eleven scene modes, and in-camera image management."
