Experience Seminars DVDExperience Seminars has given us the new “Introduction to Photography with your Digital EOS” Training DVD to give away – the DVD features 2 hours and 45 minutes of training on how to get to grips with your Canon EOS digital SLR, and is worth £20. If you would like to win one of these then simply join and post some photos on our Facebook page, retweet this post (on twitter or facebook, links below), or subscribe to our newsletter (link on the right). The winner will be selected on the 26th of March, and contacted for details.

“A DVD applicable to any digital EOS in the range and is designed to build an in depth knowledge of photography. This will be vital to the newcomer to photography especially if they have only used a compact camera in the past. It’s also ideal for the many photographers who are self taught and understand the basic terms but are struggling to make all the parts of photography work together. We don’t just look at what the features such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO and depth of field do, but how they interact together and when the various settings should be used. We also look at why, in some situations, it will be impossible to get great results and why. A chapter based course liberally illustrated with example pictures to get the point across.”

Focus on Imaging 2010

We will be at Focus on Imaging 2010 – covering the event both on DigiCamReview.com and with a “live” twitter feed, that you can follow here. The show is open to both trade and the public and this year sees increased interest with stands from Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Fujifilm plus printer companies such as Epson, Hewlett Packard, and several retailers give you the chance to buy the latest gear at bargain prices, with Jacobs and others there. The event is at the NEC, Birmingham, and tickets are £10.

The big idea...In an effort to improve DigiCamReview.com – we are looking for feedback from you – the reader – on what you would like from this site.

We’ll level with you, it’s been difficult to keep up with all the new cameras announced last year (over 175+ – and we’ll admit we didn’t cover all of them!), and even more difficult to bring meaningful coverage and reviews of them, with far fewer reviews published than we would have liked. So with this in mind, and given the time limits, and time consumed running a site like this, we’d like to steer it forwards so that it covers the key things you want, in a way that you want… If you’d be able to leave a quick comment answering these questions it would really help. Comments are moderated, so may not be published, but we do read every one!

1. Do you want more reviews? But have them shorter? (less detail, quicker publish time)
2. Do you want less reviews? But have them longer? (more detail, slower publish time)
3. Do you want to see more budget cameras reviewed (eg Kodak C140)? Or more premium cameras reviewed? (eg Ricoh GR Digital III)
4. Do you want more focus to be put on DSLR / M43rd Cameras (E-P1 etc)? Or high-end Medium Format?
5. Do you want more or less coverage of camera phones? (eg Nokia N86, Sony Satio, Sony C905 etc)
6. Should there be more photographs posted? Or stick to just cameras?
7. Would you be interested in a facebook group, or free photo hosting, or a chat forum?
8. Would you be interested in more articles, hints, tips, etc?
9. Do you want more coverage of accessories (printers, memory cards, bags), and software?
10. Did you know about our newsletter? and do you want it to be published more often?

Sandisk SD Plus USBSandisk have stopped manufacturing Sandisk Ultra II SD Plus USB memory cards – the memory cards allow you to plug them into your camera, and also straight into any free USB socket and are great when you don’t have an SD card reader or if you’ve left the camera cable at home. The cards are still available while stocks last from Amazon priced at £9.99 for 4GB, or £17.99 in Ducatti form. This is what Sandisk had to say via Twitter:

“We [Sandisk] aren’t manufacturing SD Card Plus any longer but there is inventory out there still available for purchase. I’d check Amazon”
