Panasonic has announced the Panasonic Lumix FZ72 (aka FZ70) with a huge 60x optical zoom lens, starting at an ultra-wide 20mm equivalent, zooming to 1200mm equivalent. It features a 16 megapixel sensor, 3 inch screen, optical image stabilisation, full HD video, stereo sound, flash hot-shoe, high speed shooting, manual controls, RAW, an electronic viewfinder and more. The Canon Powershot SX50 HS features a rediculous 50x optical zoom lens, equivalent to 1200mm at the telephoto end (24mm wide angle). Not only that, but you can use up to 100x digital zoom for photos, and up to 200x digital zoom in videos! ePHOTOzine has reviewed the new Panasonic Lumix SZ1, an ultra compact digital camera with a wide angle 10x optical zoom lens, image stabilisation, 16 megapixel CCD sensor, 3 inch screen, 720p video, lithium-ion rechargeable batter, and metal body. The camera is available in a number of colours, for around £179.
